decades.  He became a licensed health and life insurance agent in the State of Florida in the early 80’s, specializing in group health insurance products for small and mid-sized companies.  Michael spent much of the next two decades representing companies like The Travelers, Aetna and BC/BS of Florida.  At the same time he became involved in IAFF local #2928 The Professional Firefighters and Paramedics of Palm Beach County, soon rising to the position of Executive Vice-President.  He spent many years representing and negotiating Collective Bargaining Agreements for over 2300 Union members from 8 different Fire Departments in Palm Beach County, FL.  Beginning in 2001 he was appointed as a Trustee to the Retiree Insurance Fund and acted as the Fund’s Vice-Chair.  Soon after Michael was appointed to the Board of Trustee’s for the Palm Beach County Firefighters Employee Benefits Fund and was quickly tapped to operate the Fund on a day to day basis as the Benefits Administrator, which is the position he currently holds. 

 The PBC FF’s Employee Benefits Fund currently serves close to 4000 participants with self insured benefits of health, dental and prescription drugs and fully insured life and vision care benefits.  One of Michael’s responsibilities is to keep current the Fund’s Plan Document and one of the biggest challenges this year has been becoming educated in Health Care Reform and bringing the Plan into compliance.  He also wrote the grant application for the Early Retiree Re-Insurance Program.   Michael is also a 30+ year public servant and is currently a Captain with Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.
