Vidya Raman-Tangella

Vice President, Innovation Resource Group

 

As Vice President of the Innovation Resource Group at UnitedHealthcare, Vidya Raman-Tangella leads a team that is dedicated to the creation and development of innovations for individuals and employers.  These innovations focus on helping consumers live healthier lives, and utilize cutting-edge concepts and technology that leverage United Healthcare’s and United Health Group's extensive assets. The Innovation Resource Group works with several forward-thinking employers to test innovative concepts.

Vidya is a clinician by training and prior to her role at UnitedHealthcare, held an innovation role at Johnson & Johnson where she led the design and development of an integrated and tailored health and wellness solution for the employer and health plan markets. In addition, she was a critical player within the J & J start-up organization where she provided expertise to efforts like strategic partnerships and enterprise integration. Vidya also established and led a department to direct the creation, development and implementation of innovative initiatives at Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey. 

 

She received her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from Osmania University in Hyderabad, India, and earned her Masters of Health Administration from Cornell University in Ithaca New York. 

 

Vidya lives in New Jersey with her husband and two children.
