Amanda Quan represents employers in all types of employment litigation in both federal and state courts, in labor and employment arbitration proceedings, as well as before various administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She has experience defending employers against employment discrimination claims, sexual harassment claims, retaliation claims, claims under the Family and Medical Leave Act, wrongful discharge claims, and breach of contract claims.
In addition to employment litigation, Amanda advises and counsels employers on employment-related matters, including hiring, discipline, documentation, termination, employment contracts, wage and hour, employment policies and procedures, regulatory compliance, unfair competition, workers’ compensation, labor law, Family and Medical Leave Act, discrimination, sexual harassment claims, retaliation, non-compete agreements, and severance agreements. She regularly trains management employees on identifying and preventing discrimination and harassment in the workplace, the importance of documentation and progressive discipline, and other related employment matters that may arise. She also conducts personalized workshops for individual employers with regard to the applicability of and strategies for complying with the upcoming changes under the Affordable Care Act.
Amanda also has experience with collective bargaining and the resolution of labor disputes.
Amanda regularly speaks on the Affordable Care Act, its impact on employers and best strategies for the upcoming years. She also presents on general employment matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, employment policies and procedures, discipline, documentation, termination and best practices for employers.
Prior to law school, Amanda served as an intern at the United Nations in New York (Department of Economic and Social Affairs: Global Alliance for Information and Communication Technologies and Development Secretariat).
