Amanda-Rae Garcia passionately serves as Health Risk Manager for Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. Since arriving in 2008, she has helped foster the culture of wellness through DFW’s LiveWell program. A growing and successful wellness platform, LiveWell has earned national accolades and international recognition while changing the lives of DFW employees.
Through LiveWell, Amanda-Rae continues to advance health and well-being opportunities and interventions that directly impact engagement initiatives, business strategy and health behaviors. Some of those initiatives include leadership of the LiveWell Advisory Council, population health data reporting, and oversight of the onsite employee health clinic. Behavioral strides accomplished by DFW employees through LiveWell programming include a 96% rate of wellness participation over the past 3 years. Seventy-eight percent of the population report their health has been positively impacted as a result of the platform. The LiveWell health clinic’s efforts in 2015 resulted in total healthcare and productivity savings of $455,257.48.
During her career, Amanda-Rae has acquired more than 15 years of professional and managerial experience in the corporate wellness industry with companies such as Cooper Aerobic Enterprises, Health Fitness Corporation, and Genesis Rehabilitation Services.
Amanda-Rae holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Exercise and Sport Studies from Tarleton State University and a Master’s of Business Administration from Texas Women’s University. She is a Certified Health Promotions Director (Cooper Institute) and Corporate Wellness Specialist (Corporate Health and Wellness Association).
Amanda-Rae has been published in Active Aging and served as a panelist for a Dallas Business Journal regional wellness initiative. She is a current member of the airport’s Future Leadership Initiative, or FLI, and the Young Risk Professionals of Texas.
Amanda-Rae is married and has two young daughters, ages 5 and 1. She enjoys reading, yoga, staying active, and spending time with her family away from technology.
