Anne Marie Ludovici-Connolly has over 30 years of experience in the health and wellness industry that includes working with a variety of organizations in the public, academic, as well as private sectors. Anne Marie authored a book for Human Kinetics, a well-respected academic publisher, titled; Winning Health Promotion Strategies in 2010.
Anne Marie has served as Advisor for the United States Chamber of Commerce and was appointed by the Governor of Rhode Island to develop, launch, and manage the state’s award winning “Get Fit Rhode Island” wellness initiative.
Prior to this appointment, Anne Marie served as a professor and researcher for the University of Rhode Island, where she created evidence-based behavior change interventions, developed multi-year strategies, created effective measures and evaluation, as well as secured grant funding for a wide range of health and wellness initiatives and research projects. Anne Marie’s specialty is “bridging theory with practice,” in all areas of health behavior change.
Anne Marie currently serves as a Scholar in Residence at the University of Rhode Island under the direction of Dr. James Prochaska, where she continues to keep abreast of health behavior change research. She also serves as Consultant, Employer Health Management Solutions with Edington Associates, and with Health Diagnostic Laboratory, Inc. Previously, she served as Director, Health, Wellness and Productivity for Tufts Health Plan, and as Senior Consultant and subject matter expert in wellness, prevention and behavior change, for Aon Hewitt in North America.
Anne Marie earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing, and a master’s degree in the psychosocial aspects of exercise physiology and health behavior change from the University of Rhode Island. She is a Certified Health Fitness Specialist (CHFS) with the American College of Sports Medicine.
Anne Marie has served on many national and international professional association boards including The YMCA’s National Activate America Campaign, the International Health Racquet and Sport Association’s International Health Care Task Force, and Shape Up Rhode Island, among many others.
Anne Marie has been a featured speaker at many regional, national, and international conferences on a variety of health and wellness related topics. In her free time, she enjoys music, traveling and skiing with her family, cooking, and exercising.
