Brad Favors has been with Southwest Airlines for the last 5 years, and currently leads the Fatigue Risk Management Team. As a specialist in human performance and fatigue in the aviation industry, Brad has worked to develop and implement a holistic approach to fatigue risk management at Southwest Airlines, particularly in their Flight Operations department.
Brad’s principal work deals with incorporating operational research and strategic risk management to increase pilot alertness and improve safety. Brad and his team regularly undertake fatigue risk assessments and research studies focusing on sleep, fatigue, and associated performance.
Brad holds a Master’s degree in Aerospace Safety with an emphasis in Human Factors, as well as professional certifications in Aviation Safety & Security from the University of Southern California’s Viterbi School of Engineering.
