David has more than 30 years of experience in work site health management, data analysis, health econometrics, and program evaluation experience. He has directed and conducted risk factor cost analyses for eight states and performed numerous health econometric analyses for businesses and industries throughout the United States, Europe, and Scandinavia. He developed the ever-popular Proportionate Risk Factor Cost Appraisal™- the industry’s leading claims data analysis tool and EconoHealthROI™ – the industry’s only customized health and productivity cost analysis, break-even prescription, and ROI tool. He also served as the chief econometric analyst in creating the popular Physical Inactivity Cost Calculator sponsored by The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
For nearly 14 years, he chaired the Business & Industry committee of the N.C. Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness & Health and was awarded the Region II President’s Award of the Association for Worksite Health Promotion in 1995; he is also a Fellow of AWHP and the Emerging Issues Institute at North Carolina State University. David served as a monthly columnist for the trade publication, Occupational Health & Safety in the 1990s and has worked with the Caribbean Health Industry. He was invited in 2005 to speak at a worksite health promotion forum in Czechoslovakia for European Union wellness leaders. David has written nine books on various corporate health management topics including the 3rd edition of the best-selling Worksite Health Promotion and the industry’s only evaluation book, Evaluating Worksite Health Promotion. David’s graduate degrees were conferred by Ball State University and The Ohio State University.
