Dr. Jeffrey Durmer is a co-founder of FusionHealth and serves as Chief Medical Officer. He is responsible for the development of outcome metrics and the medical design of population sleep health programs. Dr. Durmer directs clinical research/outcomes and oversees patient care pathways for all FusionHealth sleep health management programs.
Dr. Durmer is a neurologist, systems neuroscientist and board certified sleep medicine physician with particular expertise in technology enabled sleep-health delivery systems. As one of the nation’s leading experts in applying the neuroscience of sleep and circadian rhythm biology to workplace fatigue and wellness programs, he has had the opportunity to work with many different industries and organizations to address the unique problems confronting these populations. His focus is to help people along their path of holistic well-being by ensuring they receive the best care that science can provide.
Dr. Durmer serves the Federal Aviation Administration as an appointed expert for sleep medicine, fatigue and sleep-related policies. He served six years as a member of the Medical Advisory Board for the Restless Legs Syndrome Foundation and participates in the International Restless Leg Syndrome Study Group to develop standards for diagnosis and treatment for children and adults.
In the past, he served on the Medical Advisory Board of the Healthy Trucking Association of America and currently is an adjunct Professor at Georgia State University, Department of Allied Health Sciences. Dr. Durmer directed the Emory University Sleep Laboratory and Egleston Children’s Hospital Sleep Medicine program prior to his current role at FusionHealth.
Dr. Durmer received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and doctorate of philosophy in systems neuroscience from the University of Pennsylvania.
