As the director, benefits planning and design at PETCO Animal Supplies, Inc., Julie Adamik has over 35 years of human resources experience, primarily in the areas of benefits and compensation. Prior to joining PETCO she was president of Employee Benefits Training and Solutions, Inc., a benefits consulting company, for six years. Throughout her career, Ms. Adamik has been responsible for the design, development, implementation and evaluation of health, life, disability and retirement programs. Previously, she held employee benefit leadership positions with Callaway Golf Company, Kohler Co., Alaris Medical Systems (IVAC/IMED), Caterpillar (Solar Turbines Division), Huffy Corporation and Cubic Corporation. Ms. Adamik serves on the Board of Directors of the Compensation and Benefits Association of San Diego and is a frequent guest speaker at professional association meetings and conferences throughout the country. She is on the faculty of WorldatWork and its National Employee Benefits Advisory Board and is a recipient of WorldatWork’s Lifetime Achievement Award. As an adjunct professor, Ms. Adamik has taught employee benefits courses at San Diego State University and the University of California at San Diego. She earned a B.S. degree in human resource management and industrial psychology from San Diego State University, where she graduated magna cum laude. Ms. Adamik was awarded the designation of certified employee benefit specialist from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans. She holds both the certified compensation professional and certified benefit professional credentials from WorldatWork.
