Mark Monteyne is a seasoned corporate fitness director with over 25 years’ experience in the field. He has a BS in Adult Fitness and MA in Exercise Science from Montclair State University. He interned at Bally’s Fitness centers and American Cyanamid World Headquarters.
Mark started as a customer service representative for Bell Atlantic Mobile (Verizon Wireless). He approached senior management about implementing a fitness facility in Bell Atlantic Mobile headquarters which was agreed upon. Mark started the center with a few exercise equipment and provided personal training.
In a 23 years span, Mark led, implemented, designed, staffed, and developed a network of 43 Verizon facilities (Wireless and Landline) across the nation that supported over 150,000 employees. He led a team of 90 fitness professionals with budget responsibilities over $6.7 million.
Mark presented at the White House and is an adjunct professor for 13 years at Montclair State University. He has numerous accomplishments in the fitness profession. He contributed to the fact that Verizon has been listed as one of the best places to work for many years. Mark, on behalf of Verizon, won 22 Corporate 5K Challenge largest participation awards. He also represented Verizon as the point person for numerous non-profit organizations.
Mark completed 53 marathons and is part of the Walt Disney World ‘Perfect 20 club’ (20 consecutive years in a row from conception). He is a board member for the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame.
