Ruth Larkin is the President of LifeCycle Benefits; an organization designed to specifically address the Employer and Employee needs surrounding longevity planning and long-term care insurance options in the worksite marketplace.
Ruth brings more than 25 years’ experience in the group insurance industry. Prior to launching LifeCycle Benefits, Ruth was the Western Regional Vice President for John Hancock Group Long-Term Care, where she spent 17 years building relationships and implementing long term care programs with many major Fortune 100, 500 and 1000 companies, and major colleges and universities. She successfully developed the entire Western United States sales territory from the ground floor by forging mutually beneficial relationships with the various regional and national distribution partners. Throughout the years, her responsibilities have also included product development, strategic planning, service modeling, competitive intelligence, and sales management.
In addition to her experience at John Hancock, Ruth worked in HR outsourcing with the major employer market through Boulder-based Consumer Health Services. She started her career with Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield and then Rocky Mountain Healthcare Corporation (BCBS of CO, NM and NV), where she worked in a variety of capacities from HR to Customer Service Management, Training, Sales and Marketing.
Ruth has worked in virtually every aspect of the Employee Benefits and Group Insurance marketplace which enables her to bring a wealth of experience, insight and compassion that is very purposeful at this time. Her broad exposure to the Broker/Consultant community, both regionally and nationally, combined with her tireless work at the employee level to deliver the “finished product” adds a dimension of expertise that is unparalled.
Ruth is passionate about enhancing awareness of the LTC Insurance industry, having experienced the challenges of Alzheimer’s disease first-hand in her own family. She holds a Certification in Long-Term Care (CLTC), is a member of the Society of Actuaries LTC Group, and a member of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance (AALTCI), and a graduate in Business Administration/Accounting from Wichita State University.
