With nearly three decades of experience in the health insurance industry, Wes Fischer is one of Florida’s leading experts on the industry. As president and owner of the Health Insurance Store, Fischer oversees more than 500 agents throughout Florida and the daily operations of the company. The firm specializes in individual coverage, primarily in the Medicare and the ACA Marketplace. His firm was one of the first agencies to work in the ACA Marketplace, helping nearly 20,000 clients receive new coverage.
Fischer graduated with a bachelor’s degree in finance from Florida International University and a master in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh. After graduation, Fischer worked for Price Waterhouse and Ernst & Whinney, performing audit and consulting services for health care providers. After that, Fischer was the Florida Hospital Association’s vice president of shared services and the president of Tanguay/Fischer & Associates, which specialized in self-funded and employee benefit plans for health care providers.
The Health Insurance Store was founded by Fischer in 1992 and has navigate tens of thousands of clients and agents through numerous health care reform efforts and is a frequent speaker on how health care reform will impact individuals and employer groups.
Fischer lives in St. Cloud, Florida with his wife, Vicki Riley-Fischer. His daughter, Cassandra Fischer, has joined the Health Insurance Store and oversees all marketing efforts of the agency.
