Amway Manager of Corporate Wellness & Employee Engagement, Tom Boehr, to Speak at 6th Annual Corporate Wellness Conference

The 6th Annual Corporate Wellness Conference is pleased to announce Tom Boehr, Manager, Corporate Wellness & Employee Engagement, Amway, as a speaker at the September 20-24, 2014 event in D.C this year.

The Corporate Wellness Conference is part of the Employer Healthcare & Benefits Congress,, which is made up of 6+ other conference tracks dedicated towards employers and the benefits as well as the healthcare they offer their employees: Healthcare Reform, Self Funding, Global Benefits, Health Insurance Exchange, Voluntary Benefits, Corporate Fitness & Nutrition and more.

Tom Boehr is the manager of corporate wellness programs, nutritional services, employee engagement and recognition for Amway Corporation. Tom oversees the people, facilities and programming associated with all workforce health and wellness programs, corporate food services and employee work/life resources & events.

Since assuming these responsibilities in 2006, Tom has lead the transformation of Amway’s wellness programs from activities and events to a formalized business strategy. Progressively cultivating a culture of holistic wellness that is based on sustained and relevant education, personal accountability, and work life balance that extends beyond the workplace.

Tom’s efforts have led to a 51% increase in incentive program compliance from 2010 to 2013, reaching a 92% compliance rate of those eligible in 2013. 73% of participants having either maintained or lowered their risk levels over a 6-year period.

Tom’s focus is now on expanding the scope of Amway’s culture of wellness. Specifically, to redefine wellness to include the transformation of the work environment that encourages physical movement, elevate nutrition as a productive tool and proactively partner with local and regional corporations to lead by example in influencing the broader health of our communities.

Tom has 20 years of professional compensation, recognition and reward experience, and HR consulting in various leadership roles within the healthcare, financial and manufacturing industries.

Since joining Amway in 1995, Tom has held a variety of roles within the Human Resources Division, including Manager, International Human Resources, responsible for aligning corporate HR strategy with global affiliates and Division Consultant for HR and Talent Acquisition.

Tom is a native of Bluffton, Ohio and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Taylor University in Upland, IN. Tom resides in Lowell, MI. with his wife Julie and two children, Ashley and Zachary.

Tom Boehr will also be presenting with Cara McNulty, Amanda Senecal, Dr. Dee Edington, and Victor Villanueva on the topic “Engaging the Generations: A Discussion on Health Triggers & Barriers.” This session will look at Millennials, Gen X, Baby Boomers and Traditionalists and explore their unique characteristics. What turns them on and what turns them off. Understand how to leverage triggers and overcome barriers to connect with each generation. This session will identify health and wellness program design, incentives and communications that resonate with each generation.
