StayWell Director of Research Erin Seaverson to Speak at the Corporate Wellness Conference

The 6th Annual Corporate Wellness Conference is pleased to announce Erin Seaverson, Director, Research, StayWell as a speaker at the September 20-24, 2014 event in D.C this year.

The Corporate Wellness Conference is part of the Employer Healthcare & Benefits Congress, www.EmployerHealthcareCongress.com, which is made up of 6+ other conference tracks dedicated towards employers and the benefits as well as the healthcare they offer their employees: Healthcare Reform, Self Funding, Global Benefits, Health Insurance Exchange, Voluntary Benefits, Corporate Fitness & Nutrition and more.

As director of research at StayWell Health Management, Erin guides and supports StayWell’s population health management research agenda. She serves as research consultant and principle investigator for numerous strategic initiatives, program evaluation and outcomes studies. Erin’s work in research and reporting helps to define best practices for the industry.

Erin has over 12 years of public and population health experience. Prior to joining StayWell, Erin worked as an epidemiologist for both the Minnesota Department of Health and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. She served as a contributing member on the Health Disparities Committee of Cancer Plan Minnesota. Erin also served as chairperson of the Measurement and Evaluation Committee of the NACSM Midwest Worksite Health Promotion Group steering committee and as a community advisor for the Minnesota Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention steering committee. Erin is actively involved in several industry research workgroups and committees of the Health Enhancement Research Organization and Care Continuum Alliance.

She holds a master of public health degree in epidemiology from the University of Massachusetts, a bachelor’s degree in exercise and health science from Alma College, and studied at the University of North London in London, England.

Erin has published numerous peer-reviewed, scientific research studies benefiting the field of health management. She has a passion for endurance running and triathlons and believes in giving back to her community.

Erin will also be presenting with Joanne Copas on the topic Promising Practices for Successful Wellness Champion Networks to Drive Engagement. This session will explore several established best practice methods of enhancing interest and participation in worksite wellness programs. Social support is key to individual behavior change and according to new research, strategies such as wellness champion networks can drive organizational results, as well. Several studies on employee participation in worksite wellness programs will be discussed. Researchers will provide multiple examples of successful wellness champion networks and discuss the common elements that led to building and maintaining effective wellness champion networks across large, dispersed employee populations. These emerging patterns will be examined in the context of the aforementioned research to understand why and how these tactics may have worked and how they can be applied to other employers.
